A Lifetime Interest
I have been creating and styling interiors for over 20 years. My love of colours began as a child and was very much encouraged by my grandmother. Her inspiration stays with me to this day.
My interest soon spread from colours and patterns to fabrics and furniture. Even as a student I transformed my rented rooms into beautiful living spaces. Every home I’ve lived in since has become a major project. So have many of my friends’ homes!
For a number of years I divided my time between being an executive and career coach and my interior design projects. In 2009 I decided to focus my business solely on interior design. I’ve not looked back.
I don’t arrive with a preconceived standard design in mind. I work closely with you to help you translate your ideas and aspirations into wonderful living spaces that reflect your personality and lifestyle. It really is a partnership.
I’m noted for the exciting mix of patterns and colours I can create – but I’m equally happy to keep things neutral if you prefer. My suggestions can be quirky, surprising even – but they always reflect your personality and approach and the decision is always yours. I also enjoy mixing the old and new – combining the traditional with a contemporary twist.
Some clients like to make a fresh start and invest in a new look. But it isn’t all about big budgets. It’s also about bringing out the best of what you already have. I’m very keen on reusing, recycling and up-cycling.
Many interior designers are quite comfortable creating new structures and introducing bold fabrics, but can be reluctant to address those vital details that finish off or ‘dress’ a room: the layout of the bookcases, which pictures hang where, even how to place the cushions. I do both – not just delivering a project but creating a real room, a room that’s part of your beloved home.
